Joseph Alan Ragusa
June 27, 1945 — October 7, 2013
Joseph Alan Ragusa, 68 of Streator passed away Monday morning (Oct. 7th) at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 6:30PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday at 6:30 at the funeral home with military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Genseke, Larry Perry, Deborah Johnson and Jill Breese.
Alan was born on June 27, 1945 in Streator to Joseph C. and Priscilla Jean (Fulks) Ragusa. He married Debra Stith on July 19, 1986, she survives.
Also are surviving are sons; Shane (Reba Luman) Ragusa of John City, TN, Jeremy Stith of Streator, Christopher and Seth Ragusa both of Streator, 4 grandchildren, Taylor and Giovanni Ragusa and Damon and Marissa Stith, brothers; Mike (Roseann) Ragusa of Streator, Chris Ragusa of East Peoria, Kerry Ragusa of Streator, mother-in-law, Mrs. Lila Stith of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents.
He attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1964 and attended IVCC. Alan was formerly employed as a truck driver and served in the US Army during Vietnam receiving several medals, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Marksman Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Alan enjoyed drag racing, movies and TV. He also enjoyed spending time with his family who meant the world to him.
Memorials may be made to the family.
