Josephine M. Pizzolato, 101 of Streator passed away Sunday evening (February 21st) at Heritage Health, Streator.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 – 11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:30 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
Josephine was born on September 6, 1914 in Toluca to Gaetano and Anna (Columbo) Cravatta. She married Joseph Pizzolato on September 15, 1935. He passed away on June 7, 1955.
Surviving are son, Joseph (Mary) Pizzolato of Streator, son-in-law, James Hersheway of Streator, 4 grandchildren, Jim (Melanie) Hersheway, Lori (Dan) Winn, Chaz and Joseph Pizzolatto Jr., 5 great-grandchildren, Courtney Miller, Callie Hersheway-Love, Seth Hersheway, Allison and Katie Winn and a great-great-grandson, Addam Miller, brother Joseph Cravatta of Streator and sister Lucy Laue of Tucson, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Rosemary Hersheway, brother, Charles Cravatta, sisters, Dollie Preci and Stella Sanza.
Josephine attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and was a cook for the former Indian Acres and Heritage Manor. She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Josephine enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing bingo and was a diehard Cubs fan.
