Karla K. Fitch

Karla K. Fitch, 72 of Streator passed away Tuesday afternoon (December 18, 2018) at her home.

A visitation will be held Sunday from 12noon – 2 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 PM with the Rev. Roger Davis officiating at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren Zachary Jonassen, Brent and Brittney Hallam, nephews Tom Simpkins Jr. and Jacob Simpkins, niece Hayle Marshall and step niece Makayla Samoska.

Karla was born on May 16, 1946 in Aurora to Charles and Betty (Brown) Simpkins.  She married Darel Fitch on July 6, 1986.  He survives.

Also surviving are step-children Crystal (Doug) Roach of Plano, Alicia Fitch of Sandwich and Evan Fitch of Princeton, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, brother Chuck (Pat) Simpkins of Oswego and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Schezelle Hallam, her twin brother Gary Simpkins and Tom Simpkins.

Karla attended Oak Park Elementary Grade School and graduated from East Aurora High School.  She retired from the Hillside Nursing Home in Yorkville as a CNA.  Karla was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Streator.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Leukemia Foundation.
