Karla Kay Poling

Karla K. Poling, 83, of Streator passed away on June 4^th, 2024, at Toulon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Toulon, IL. Services will be conducted at First United Methodist Church, Streator, on Saturday, June 15^th. Visitation begins at 11:30am with services at 12pm. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Karla was born on October 5, 1940, in Du Quoin, IL, daughter of Herbert W. and Edna (Reeves) House. She was married to Raymond Poling on ­­­November 25, 1961. She is survived by her two daughters, Shelly Cinnamon of Naperville, IL and Susan Poling of Streator, IL, two grandsons, Josh Cinnamon of Herndon, VA and Nate Cinnamon of Flagstaff, AZ and friend, Craig Berge of Streator, IL. Her parents preceded her in death.

Karla enjoyed her high school days, often reminiscing about her friends and social events. Her favorite season was Christmas and she loved decorating the tree and giving gifts. In warmer months, she was fond of growing and tending flowers, as well as canning the garden’s bounty. No one ever walked away hungry as a guest of her home. Karla worked at Heritage Health of Streator in the dietary department for over 30 years preparing meals for the residents and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she often volunteered.
