Kathleen "Kathy" Hays

Kathleen “Kathy” Hays, 71 “Our beloved mother” of Streator passed away Thursday (January 12, 2023) at Parker Nursing Home.

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 – 6 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with funeral services following at 6PM.  A private family burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Kathy was born on February 8, 1951, in Streator to John E. and Marcella (Detmerine) Wright.

She is survived by her children; Bob (Kim O Kane) Hays, Marcy (Jason Gaydos) Hays, Bill (Linda) Hays all of Streator, and daughter in law Shannon Hays.  Kathy is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Nicole (Eric Vissering) Davis, Scott (Oliva Magana) Hays, Jake Hays, Holly Hays, Matthew Redd, Adam Renner and Katelyn (Kelsie) Haism and 9 great grandchildren; Max, Annabella, Kiley, Makenzee, O Connor, Ariella, Zachary, Hawk and Bear, sisters, Miriam Hawley, Mary Kay (Jim) Werhane and Beth Crank, brothers, John, and Jim Wright along with several nieces and nephews.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Sharon Palko, Jacqueline Raber, Marcella McKee, Roberta Essman, Victoria Wright, Janene Bennett, and Rebecca Tavitis.

Kathy worked various jobs through the years and found great enjoyment in the flower garden and crocheting for her family.
