Kaywin C. Pfeffinger, 87 of Streator passed away Tuesday evening (February 11, 2025) at the ARC of Streator.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Gridley Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kasandra Brothers, Patrick Geraughty, Johnathan, Katlyn and Laytn Rowe, Hunter Cox. Honorary will be Tiffany Tumblin, Morgan, Dallas, and Austin Brothers.
Kaywin was born on October 5, 1937, in Gridley to Carl F. and LaVera (Benedict) Pfeffinger. He married Eva Funk on Augst 1, 1959. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2020.
Surviving are daughters, Robin Geraughty of Oklahoma City, OK, Shawn Rowe and Trudy (Jim) Cox and son Kaywin (Kira) Pfeffinger II all of Streator, grandchildren, Kasandra, Patrick, Johnathan, Hunter, Tiffany and Kalycia, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild due in Sept and 1 great great grandchild due in August, brother George Pfeffinger of Kankakee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Eva, granddaughter Lucinda, son in law Bobby Geraughty, brother Dwayne and sisters Carol Bushey and Janet Bushey.
Kaywin attended Chenoa Grade School and Gridley High School. He served in the US Army from 1956 until 1958 stationed in Germany. Kaywin retired from Vactor Mfg and was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
