Kirt Edward Van Buren

Kirt Edward VanBuren, 75 of Grand Ridge passed away Monday (December 30, 2024) at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday (Feb. 1st) from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Grand Ridge United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be in the Grand Ridge Cemetery at a later date.

Kirt was born on September 11, 1949, in Ottawa to Willard and Frances (Williamson) VanBuren.

Surviving is a son Carrick Van Buren of Colorado, stepdaughters Amanda Harris of Italy and Michelle Farrell of Merrillville, IN, sister Cynthia VanBuren Raine of Lombard and 4 nephews and 1 niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Rick VanBuren.

Kirt attended Grand Ridge Grade School and Ottawa high School. He served in the US Army. Kirt was formerly employed with Unitech in Morris.

The Grand Ridge Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
