Laura P. Summers, 80 of Leonore passed away Sunday afternoon (Jun 26th) at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.
There will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Winterrowd Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Laura was born February 5, 1931 in Streator to Roy and Alice (Wilson) Mitchell.
She married Gene Summers on July 19, 1952. He survives.
Also surviving are children, Linda (Dale) Tenopir of Tucson, Az, Debra (Mark) Wackerline of LaSalle, Dale (Karen) Summers of Leonore, Jake (Holly) Summers of Tonica, Dennis (Donna) Summers of Peru, Dave (Laura) Summers, of Streator, and Donald Summers of Granville, 8 grandchildren, Heather, Jacob, William, Mackenzie, Lawrence, Tommy, Tammy, and Bryan, 8 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jill, Juliana, Tommy Jr., Ashley, Nicholas, Maeghan, and Dalton, sisters, Jenny Eggleston of Streator and Margaret Salisbury of New Orleans, LA.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Walters, a sister Rosie Katanich, and a grandson, Tony Summers.
Laura attended Plumb Grade School and was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church in Richland Township. She loves the Cubbies, going fishing and most of all her little dog "Annie."
Memorials may be directed to the family of Laura Summers.
