Leslie D. Scifers 85, of Streator passed away Thursday morning (Nov. 17th) at Heritage Health Care, Streator.
A visitation will be held Monday from 10- 11AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11AM at the funeral home w/ Rev. Jerry Haley officiating. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ron Christman, Jack Scifers, Ed Olesen, Kyle Gronewold, Jack Henderson and Bob Duvall.
Leslie was born March 12, 1926 in Minonk, IL to Lewis and Anna (Timmerman) Scifers. He married Ruth Mosbach on July 2, 1949. She survives.
Also surviving is sister-in-law, Shirley (Herbert) Hussemann of TN, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Victor, and Louie Scifers and sister, Mildred Snow.
He served in the US Army during WWII and retired from Smith Douglas in 1981. He was a 50 year member of the Streator Moose Lodge and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or Streator Moose Lodge.
