William "Jim" Reed, 70 of Dana passed away Wednesday evening (March 16th) at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be held Monday at 10AM at Riverview Cemetery. Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jim was born February 4, 1941 in Streator, IL to William and Joyce (Trumble) Reed.
He married Katherine Wilson on December 20, 1993. She survives.
Also surviving are 5 sons, Eric (Melissa) Reed of Beloit, WI, David (Vicki) Reed of AZ, Michael (Deb) Reed of AZ, Rodney Reed of Pontiac, Charles Reed of Rockford, 2 step-sons, Ronald L. (Amalia) Blake of TX, and Joseph Blake of Toluca, 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sister, Kay (Rick) Overocker of Streator, niece, Sharon Johnson of Streator and father-in-law, Jimmy Wilson of Minonk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Gregory Reed, and daughter, Susan Tinder.
Jim retired from Owens' Illinois Glass in 2003. He worked at the Woodland School Bus Garage and Turner Bus Service as a mechanic and manager. He enjoyed restoring golf carts.
He was affiliated with the First Church of the Nazarene. Jim graduated from Streator High School in 1959.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
