Luther E. Mounce, 91 of Streator passed away Wednesday (July 18th) at Good Samaritan Home - Flanagan.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Sam Murphy, grandsons, Jeremy, Jason and Dustin Mounce, Luther Senter, and great-grandson, Austin Hallam.
Luther was born on March 1, 1921 in Somerset, Kentucky to Elmer and Martha (Bullock) Mounce.
He married Florence Yeager on August 9, 1941. She passed away January 24, 1994.
Surviving is son, Randy (Mary) Mounce of Pontiac, daughters, Linda (Sam Murphy) Vega of Long Point, Marsha (Mike) Evans of Streator, and Kimberly (Lewis) James of Lemoore, CA, 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Edward Mounce, grandsons, Jimmy Mounce and Randy Custer, granddaughter, Lori Mounce , 5 brothers, James, Art, Orville, Floyd, and Donald Mounce and 3 sisters, Dorothy Marie Potts, Stelma Schmitt, and Alta Jackson,
Luther retired from Transco Manufacturing in Streator and was a member of the Streator Eagles #645.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
He formerly played in the band with the Illinois Valley Boys.
