Lynn A. Whitaker

Lynn A. Whitaker, 70 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning (January 7, 2020) at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday (January 25, 2020) from 2PM until 4PM at Central Church of Christ in the fellowship hall.  The Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Lynn was born on June 20, 1949 in Decatur to Wayne and Gladys (Imgrund) Whitaker.

He married Carol Gass on October 31, 2015.  She survives.                                                                                              

Surviving is his wife, children, Shannon Lee of TN, Shane Whitaker of Decatur and Stephanie of TN, step children, Bruce (Sandy) Robb of FL and Mike Robb of Decatur, Keith (Heather) Zimdars , Jamie Sunderland and Marshall (Patty) Johnson, Jr. all of NB and several  grandchildren and great grandchildren .

He is preceded in death by his parents and step son, Chuck Robb.

Lynn graduated from Eisenhower High School in Decatur in 1967. 

 He was a member of Central Church of Christ. 

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970 and retired from Lowes in Decatur in 2000.  He was the manger of the Electronic Department. 

Lynn loved to work on cars and help anyone that needed help.

Memorials may be directed to ASPCA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
