Margaret Delporte

Margaret Delporte, 95 of Streator passed away Thursday (July 28, 2022) at Heritage Health, Streator.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 – 11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11am at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Margaret was born January 21, 1927, in Christopher, IL to Jules and Susana (Cresson) Laurent.  She married Tom A. Delporte on October 17, 1949.  He preceded her in death on January 24, 1999.

Surviving are grandchildren; Brian (Sarah) Novotney of El Paso, Lisa Donahue of Morris, great-grandchildren; Brody and Thomas Novotney, Nina, Paul, Janelle, Aidan, and Keira Donahue.  Also surviving is a half brother Phillip Laurent of Mulkeytown, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, daughter and son in law Susan and Terry Novotney, son Thomas J. Delporte.

Margaret graduated from Christopher High School 1945.  She was employed for 3 years at Admiral in Chicago, City of Chicago School District for 24 years.

She was a member of the Central Church of Christ and she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and being a housewife.
