Passed away Sunday evening (May 17th) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator
Visitation will be held Wednesday (May 20th) from 4 - 7PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Hays officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Eric, Jeff, Jordan, Justin, and Jacob Garretson, Brian and Chad Pecka, Justin Jakubcin, and Nick Calandra
Burial will be in Cornell Cemetery, Cornell, IL
She was born January 30, 1925 in Bethpage, TN to James C. and Callie (Fleming) Simpson
She married Glenn J. Garretson on March 3, 1945, he survives, also surviving are, Daughters, Glenda (Bruce) Pecka of Dekalb, Janice Garretson (Robert Jakubcin) of Denver, CO, Bonita (Ron) Calandra of Oakland, CA, Sons, Gerald (Carole) Garretson of Streator, IL, Thomas (Kathy) Garretson of Whitefish, MT, Troy (Beth) Garretson of Carl Junction, MO, and Todd (Christine) Garretson of Peru, IL,
8 Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her, Daughter, Lisa Garretson, Sister, Gladys Jordan, and Brothers, Clyde, Coy and James Simpson.
She was a member of The First United Methodist Church, Streator, and a member of the Upper Room of the Church
She was a farm manager for 65 yrs, Baked Wedding Cakes for 20yrs, and formerly employed at JcPenny's, Juanita's Bridal Cottage, Owen's Illinois Glass
She attended Sunbury Grade School and Cornell High School
