Marna Noreen Hayes

Marna Noreen Hayes, 73 of Streator passed away November 6, 2024, at the ARC, Streator.

Marna was born on January 24, 1951, in Ottawa to Otis and Geneva (Lightner) Hayes.

Surviving are nephews, Eric (Schalacey) Hayes and Brian (Jade) Hayes both of Louisiana, great nephews and niece Braylon Broussard, Kole Hayes, Lilah Hayes, Xaiden Hayes and Kaymin Hayes, sister-in-law Sandy Hayes of Broussard, LA.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Terry Hayes.

Marna graduated from Cornell High School in 1969. She was very fond of all animals. She raised and showed Jersey cattle in High School while living on the family farm in the Blackstone area. After graduation Marna attended nursing school, then worked as a Registered LPN nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for 30 plus years. She later worked in nursing homes in Streator and Pontiac. Marna was in 4H for over 10 years, member of the Manville Succeeders, she won many awards for state projects, county and state outstand honors awards.

Services will be held in April of 2025 at the Phillips Cemetery
