Marta M. Gebhardt, 79 of Streator passed away Thursday afternoon (Jan. 2nd) at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-6PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 6PM at the funeral home.
Following services, cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Marta was born on February 28, 1934 in Wurzburg, Germany to Johann and Margareta (Maurer) Schmitt.
She married Raymond E. Gebhardt on July 23, 1955. He passed away September 23, 2004.
Surviving is daughter, Marianne Abrams, 4 grandchildren, sisters, Mariam, Hidie, and Hilga and brother Pida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Diana, sister, Gustie, and brother Amnilise.
Marta came to America in 1956 and she worked for the City of Streator for many years at City Hall and Anderson Golf Course.
