Martha B. Gula, 91 of Streator passed away Saturday afternoon (February 11th) at Heritage Health Care in Streator.
There will be no services at this time per her request, she has donated her body to science.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Martha was born April 6, 1925 in Ottawa to Joseph V. and Martha H. (Albertus) Decker. She married John A. Gula on February 8, 1951. He passed away on January 21, 1989.
Surviving is daughter Kathy Grosenbach of Spring Valley and son, Robert Gula of Streator, daughter-in-law, Kris Gula (David) Hagen of Aberdeen, WA, 2 grandchildren, Corey Grosenbach of Minonk and Melissa Roberts of Aberdeen, WA and 3 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John A. Gula, son David Gula, son-in-law, Lyle Grosenbach and was the last surviving of 11 siblings.
Martha was a very active member of The First United Methodist Church in Streator where she also taught adult Sunday school. She retired from Owens Illinois Glass where she was the very first female supervisor. She enjoyed bowling and golfing. Martha taught the arthritis swim class at the Streator YMCA.
Memorials may be made to the family of Martha Gula.
