Martha M. Schiffbauer

Martha M. Schiffbauer, 88 of rural Grand Ridge passed away Monday morning (Dec. 31st) at Manor Court in Peru.
A visitation will be held Friday from 9 – 11AM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Cumberland Cemetery rural Wenona.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Haynes, William Rodrick Jr., Richard Schiffbauer Jr., Terry Finney, LeRoy Buckley Jr., James Funfsinn, Ellvan and Edward Markley.
Martha was born on July 26, 1924 in Versailles,MO to Frank and Hazel (Stafford) Schmitz. She married Glenn E. Schiffbauer on December 30, 1939; he passed away on May 30, 2008.
Surviving are children Judy (LeRoy) Buckley of Oglesby, Jenny (Bill) Rodrick of Tonica, Thomas Schiffbauer of Grand Ridge, Marie (John) Durdan of Streator, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, brother John (Evelyn) Schmitz of Geneseo, sister Mary Henderson of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Richard, daughter Juanita Thompson, brothers Bud and Gene and a sister Maxine Melrose.
She was a member of the Marines Corp League Auxiliary and she attended Lostant grade school and high school.
Memorials may be directed to the Grand Ridge Fire Department.
