Mary E. Hammer, 91 of Streator passed away Friday morning (Dec. 20th) at Heritage Health Care in Streator.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 1 – 3PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday at 3PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.
Mary was born February 6, 1922 in Oakland, IL to John E. and Sarah E. (Cox) Frantz.
Surviving are children Mary Eloise Stanfel of Lakeland, FL, Linda Lou (Lyle) Taylor of Coral Springs, FL, and John Russell (Shirley) Hammer of Streator, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild, sisters, Dorothy Hammer of Villa Grove and Freida Thompson of Arcola.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lewis “Bud†and Harold Frantz and son-in-law George Stanfel.
She retired from Owen’s Illinois Glass in 1984 and was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Mary loved sewing, cooking and animals.
Memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ.
