Maxine Bennett, 86 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning (June 16th) at her home.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 2 â 3 PM at the Park Presbyterian Church, Streator. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM at the church with Pastor Jane Esterline officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Maxine was born on November 4, 1928 in Grand Ridge to Clem and Effie (Mitchell) Black. She married Marvin Bennett on May 18, 1952, he passed away on January 27, 1987.
Surviving is son Timothy (Brenda) Bennett of Camarillo, CA, grandchildren John and Amanda Bennett and Bricklynn Brown, brother, Robert (Delores) Black of Grand Ridge, sisters, Catherine Poundstone and Vera Rowe both of Grand Ridge, several nieces and nephews, and long time companion and best friend Gerry Jaegle of Streator.
Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Joan in 1967, sisters, Marie Lehr, Dorothy Connolly, Irene Arkels and Mabel Cole and brothers, Roger, Glenn and Richard Black.
She graduated from Streator High School and worked as an office assistant and a retail clerk at Rayâs Paint Store anda school bus driver several years ago and was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church, Streator VFW Auxiliary, American Legion and the Good Will Club.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kathy Gotch and niece Karyn Dzurison and family for the love and support over the years.
