Melody Ann Salisbury, 68 of Streator passed away Thursday evening at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
A visitation will be held Monday from 10 AM until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday at noon at the funeral home with cremation rites following services and burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
Melody was born on June 28, 1947 in Ottawa to Earl and Mary (Fleming) Vernoy. She married Donald Salisbury on March 7, 1986. He survives.
Also surviving are children, Louwanna (David) Frickey of Streator, Mary (Tim) Sterling of Streator, Debbie Salisbury of Streator, James (Trisha) Martin Jr. of Marseilles, Peggy Martin of Marseilles, Linda Salisbury of Streator and Donna (Larry) Finney of Streator, 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and 1 due in August, brother, Earl (Bonnie) Vernoy of Ottawa, sister, Ursula (Dale) Wheaton of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Liz and Madonna Vernoy, Babs Thomas, Carol Siverson and a brother, Spike Vernoy.
Melody attended St. Columba Grade School and graduated from Marquette High School. She retired from the Wallpaper factory in Streator and was formerly employed at the LaSalle County Nursing Home as a C.N.A. and as an assembler at CTS Nights in Sandwich.
She enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, fishing, boating, camping, traveling and going to car shows and spending time with her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Pet Project.
