Merle T. Sweeney, 76 of Grand Ridge passed away Tuesday morning (April 7th) at his home.
Following cremation a memorial mass will be held at a later date.
Grand Ridge Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Merle was born on February 8, 1939 in Arnold, PA to Gilliford and Ruth (Marinefield) Sweeney.
He married Christine O. Busan on September 7, 1963. She survives.
Surviving is a son, Thomas (Susan) Sweeney of Grand Ridge, IL, 2 grandsons, Nicholas and Nathen Sweeney, and 2 Step-grandchildren Tori and Bryan Avelar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Gilliford Jr., Donald, Wesley, and Rodney Sweeney, and sister, Shirley Sweeney Moore.
Merle was a member of St. Columba Church in Ottawa Golf course mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army.
Memorials may be directed to family of Merle Sweeney.
