Mildred (Stuart) Johnson, 85 of Long Point passed away Saturday evening (Nov. 3rd) at OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral Home.
Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers and pallbearers will be her grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Mildred was born January 20, 1927 in Ottawa, IL to Herman and Ruth (Hamlyn) Siebert.
She married Lee M. Stuart on May 15, 1945 in Hannibal, Missouri. He passed August 24, 1972.
She then married Clarence Johnson on February 14, 1986 in Ancona, IL. He passed away October 19, 2012.
She is survived by 4 daughters Paula (Warren) Schneider of Geneseo, Rita (Dale) Rients of Long Point, Martha (Don) Hilts of Minonk, and Mary (Arlin) Tjaden of Roanoke. Three stepchildren, Marion Johnson of Ancona, Dorothy (Mac) McDermid of Columbia, SC and Judy Berry of Streator. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 19 step great- grandchildren, sister Leona Sorenson of Ottawa, and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Mildred was also preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Karen (Rients) Hays, and James and Monica Tjaden and 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Mildred was a homemaker, she enjoyed playing cards and needlework and watching her great grandsons play sports. You could see Mildred & Clarence many afternoons picking up cans along the roadside. Many will tell you when you saw one of them; the other one was close by.
Mildred had a fun afternoon on Saturday watching four of her great grandsons play on the FCW football team, the joy of her life!
