Mildred M. Vissering

Mildred M. Vissering, 99 of Streator passed away Friday March 19, 2021 at Heritage Health, Streator

Private family graveside services will be held at Riverview Cemetery.  The Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred was born on December 28, 1921 in Blackstone to Edward Earl and Clara Edith (Engel) Gebhardt.  She married Harmy Vissering on December 14, 1940.  He preceded her in death on December 21, 1988.

Surviving are daughters; Sandra (Steve) Hill of Streator, Carol (David) Winn of Streator, Judith Pineda of Ottawa and Peggy (Frank) Rizzo of Streator and a son, Gene (Janice) Vissering of Streator, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and several great-great- grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, brother Raymond Gebhardt and a grandson in infancy.

Mildred attended the Smithmound Grade School and Cornell High School.  She worked as a seamstress at the Garter Factory and was also a cook at Silverfross Drive In and the Grove Restaurant.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
