Montress Shields, 91 of Streator passed away Tuesday morning (Apr. 24th) at Heritage Health Care.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 1- 2PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2PM at Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Phillips Cemetery.
Montress was born on August 4, 1920 in Manville to Charles Emery and Mary (Cosson) Burt.
Surviving are sons, Gene H. (Sheila) Murphy, Norfolk, VA, and Robert (Marlena Flynn -Simmons) Shields of Streator, daughter Sheri (Roy) Marxs of Norfolk, VA, 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sister, June Nanouski of Naplate and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Linda Murphy.
Montress attended Streator High school and was a hairdresser for several years.
Memorials may be directed to the family of Montress Shields.
