Norman J. Pouk, 76 of Streator passed away Thursday (May 3rd) at his home.
Following cremation a visitation will be held Thursday from 9 – 10:30 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Church. Funeral mass will be said at Thursday at 10:30 at the church w/ Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW.
The Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Norman was born on December 19, 1941 in Streator to Andrew and Catherine (Dzurisin) Pouk.
Surviving are sons Douglas (Emily) Pouk of St. Louis, MO and David Pouk of St. Peters, MO, 4 grandchildren, sister Jeanette Kuerth of Pontiac and brother Ronald Pouk of Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Frederick.
Norman attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1960. He enlisted in the US Army during Vietnam and retired from the A&P Grocery and Regis Inventory. Norman was a member of the Sandyford Sportsman Club where he enjoyed fishing and target shooting.
Memorials may be made in his name to St. Michael's the Archangel Church or Streator VFW Post 1492.
