Ralph "Bud" Cave Sr.
June 23, 1922 — February 6, 2013
Ralph “Bud†J. Cave, Sr., 90 of Streator passed away Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 6th) at Heritage Health in Streator.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-6PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joseph, Russell, and Joshua Cave and Matthew Kaup, and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron and Elizabeth Buckley.
Ralph was born on June 23, 1922 in Streator, IL to Joseph and Bertha (Munts) Cave.
He married Lucille Johnson on August 23, 1944. She passed away April 11, 2010.
Surviving is son, Ralph (Elizabeth) Cave, Jr. of Rural Ottawa, daughters, Bonnie (Arthur) Smith of Edelstein, IL and Kathy (David) Kaup of Metamora, 6 grandchildren, Debra (Michael) Buckley, Judith (Kent) Callahan, Ralph Joseph Cave III, Jacob Russell Cave, Joshua Cave, and Matthew Kaup 10 great-grandchildren, sisters, Mabel Whalen of Streator and Leona (Harry) Kreiser of Leonore, and Rose Cave of Farina, IL and brother, Robert Cave of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Sherman, Roy, and Ray Cave and sister, Bertha Cave.
Ralph attended country Streator Grade Schools. He was a grain and livestock farmer in the Streator area for over 50 years. He was a member of the Bloomington Shriner’s 32nd Degree and Ottawa Masons, Lodge #40.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Grand Ridge Fire Department.
