Richard D. Grabowski

Richard D. Grabowski, 78 of Streator passed away Monday (December 4, 2023) at his home.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 6 PM with services being held at 6PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.

Rich was born on November 17, 1945, in Streator to Louis and Olivida (Doerfler) Grabowski.  He married Kathryn Behrens on July 8, 1966.  She preceded him in death on January 25, 2015.

Surviving are; Joseph (Teresa) Grabowski of Streator, Stephen (Susan) Grabowski of Streator, Carey (David) Ailor of Bartow, FL and James (Sara) Grabowski of Marine, IL, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and longtime companion Pam Taylor of Streator.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathryn and a sister Shirley Palochko.

Rich graduated from St. Anthony’s Grade School, Streator High School in 1965 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Education at SIU in Carbondale.  Rich had taught at St. Mary’s Grade School and he owned and operated Total Fitness.  He was a member of the Streator Elks Lodge and Streator Eagles Club.
