Richard (Rick) Ragusa, 59, of Streator passed away Tuesday (Dec. 4th) at St. Mary's Hospital.
A visitation will be held Friday from 4-7 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at held at 10 AM at the funeral home.
Officiating the services will be long time friend Justin Fink.
Burial will be at Emery Green Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ron Leber, Jim Taylor, Troy Simons, Jeremy Hillyer, Cody Ragusa, Mike Goodrich & Danny Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deborah Johnson, Chuck Ragusa, Dustin Funderberg, Sean Ragusa & Jim Fink.
He was born August 5, 1953 to Tony & Gertrude (Hughs) Ragusa. He graduated from Streator Township High School.
He is survived by his children Amy (Mike) Goodrich of Putnam, Meagan (Dustin) Funderberg of Tiskilwa and Cody Ragusa of Streator and also survived by fiancee Debbie Barichello, 5 grandchildren, Mckelti & Jaxin Goodrich and Olivia, Nolan and a brand new baby Funderberg, brothers, John Rein, and Chuck (Kathy) Ragusa, and sister, Deborah (Don) Johnson, nephew Jim Taylor, niece, Jessi Ragusa, and great-great niece Addison Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank Ragusa, nephew Eric Taylor and great niece, Jenni Taylor.
Rick was a laborer for local 82 of Streator until his accident where he fell working construction. A career changer he went on to do one of the things he loved most in life and that was become Streator Animal control, he then moved on to become LaSalle County Animal Control. He loved working with animals and wildlife most of all. He then went on to find a new passion working security. He was Sergeant of the Guard at the National Guard for Securitas in Marseilles and he also volunteered his time as the Range Manager at Buffalo Range Shooting Park.
Rick was an outdoors men who loved to hunt, fish, fun lovingly agitate & ride his Harley. He was a member for many years at Sandy Ford Sportsmen's Club, The Hog Chapter, Run for the Wall, Toys for Tots, where he was Santa for many years, Toy runs on his Harley and he helped throughout the years with many other events.
