Robert L. Kmetz

Robert L. Kmetz, 81 of Streator passed away Tuesday evening (October 22, 2024) at the ARC in Streator.

Bob was born on February 19, 1943, in Streator to John and Anna (Janovich) Kmetz. He married Susan Hays on September 26, 1980. She survives.

Also surviving are daughter Sue (Dan) Kelps of Aurora, sons John Allen Kmetz of Streator and Robert (Angelica) Kmetz of Millington, TN, granddaughters, Kelly Lynch, Kristi Buchanan, Kate Kelps, Kalina and Kassie Kmetz, 2 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Linda Kmetz of Streator and Phyllis Kmetz of Downers Grove and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Jerry and Chester Kmetz, sisters, Lucille McLaughlin, Joan Brennan, Genevieve Hancin, Helen Kmetz and Evelyn Mudrock.

Bob attended Grand Ridge grade school and graduated from Streator High School. He was formerly employed at Virl Z. Hill, Sefton Chevrolet in Henry, Rick Rutledge Auto and retired from Rhodes Auto and was co-owner of Kmetz Kennel.

Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society.

Per Bobs request there will be no services. The Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
