Robert E. Schaefer

Robert E. Schaefer, 95 of Streator passed away Sunday evening (December 19, 2021) at his home.

Following cremation a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Bob was born on November 3, 1926 in Streator to Ervin and Lela (Welge) Schaefer. He married Alice M. Garretson on August 13, 1950. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2021.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Schaefer of Streator and Patty (William) Jones of Wenona, daughter-in-law Jennifer (Mark Frey) Schaefer of Cincinnati, OH, grandchildren; Robert (Susie) Baker, Kristi (Jeff) Mahadocon, Jason Jones, Jennifer (Brandon) Thomas, Joshua (Kayla) Jones, Kelsey (Glen Pomorski) Schaefer and R. Scott Schaefer, great-grandchildren, Spencer and Parker Baker, Cole and Kinsley Jones, Josey Thomas, and Sienna Pomorska, and sister-in-law Theresa Schaefer of Brentwood, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, son Robert G. Schaefer, and brother Ronald E. Schaefer.
Bob graduated from Streator High School. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Bob was a man of quiet dignity and strength, lived by example, and was dearly loved and admired by his family. He enjoyed time with family, reading, watching nascar races, riding his motorcycle, and John Deere tractors.
Memorials may be made in his name to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
