Ronald E. Kreier, 85 of Streator, sadly left us at home surrounded by family on Wednesday (February 8, 2023) at his home.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Thursday (Feb. 16th) from 1 – 3 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 PM at the funeral home.
Ron was born on September 12, 1937 in Streator to Fred and Anna (Crouch) Kreier. He married Margie Evans on December 31, 1959. She survives.
He was a devoted father to: Randy (Susie) Kreier, Rhonda (Rick) Jepsen and Rodney (Michelle) Kreier, Loving Grandfather of 17 grandchildren: Keith (Kreier) Promenschenkel,Ben Bills, Brandon Kreier, Megan Spain, Parker VanGorder, Wesley VanGorder, Danielle Rizzo, Zack Kreier, Mya Nelson, Kim Pfledderer, Jason Pfledderer, Jasamyn Jordan, Chalice Tapia; 21 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Randy, grandsons, Keith Kreier Promenschenkel and Parker Van Gorder, a brother Clarence in infancy, sisters, Ethel Niblock, Gertie Lerette, Irene Cox, Bernice Sopher, Erma Keszi and Mona Harding and a daughter in law Sue Pfledderer.
Everyone loved his witty personality.
Ronnie loved fishing at Lazy Acres, hunting with family, boating at Lake Wildwood, Grilling in the garage and anything outdoors.
Ron attended Wilson grade school and had retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in 2009 in the Bio Med Department. He was a member of Lazy Acres, Streator Eagles and Streator Moose Lodge and the N.R.A., and Church of the Open Bible.
No words can express how grateful and blessed we are to our friends and family for all their love and support,
Memorials may be made in his name to the Church of Open Bible or a charity of the donor’s choice.
