Ronald L. Volk

Ronald L. Volk, 85 of Rutland passed Saturday evening (April 20, 2024) at his home surrounded by his loving wife Cheryl and family.

Following cremation, a visitation will be held Sunday from 3 – 5 p.m. with services being held at 5 p.m. at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.

Ron was born on August 19, 1938, in Minonk to Isadore and Minnie (Cox) Volk.  He married Cheryl Cronk on August 29, 1998, in Rutland at the Christian Church.  She survives in Rutland.

Surviving are Patricia Marsack of Rock Island, Ronnie (Joanie) Volk of Rutland, Lori Daniel of Florida, Mike Volk of Cornell, Tina (Shawn) Brownsey of Pontiac, Chuck Tooley of Minonk, Jerry Tooley of Wenona, and Terry Tooley of Rutland, 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Dora Grenier and Lila Stith, brother Robert, Richard, and Skip Volk.

Ron attended MDR High School and spent 4 years in the US Air Force.  He worked for Caterpillar for 43 years until his retirement.

Ron was a very hard worker all of his life.  He was always outside tinkering around.  He loved to watch WWE.  Ron and Cheryl enjoyed going to Texas every year, they have met a lot of great people who became like family.  The last several years they went to Florida. He loved spending time with family and friends.   The memories made with him will always be held near and dear to all of his family and friends.
