Samuel âJoeâ Armstrong, 84 of Grand Ridge passed away Tuesday evening (Jan. 29th) at Parker Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5 â 8PM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30am at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa.
Joe was born on June 3, 1928 in Ottawa to Samuel J. and Mary (Chipon) Armstrong Sr.
He married Norma Crank on September 10, 1949. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters Joan Marie Donahue of Rohnert Park, CA, Kim Michelle Smith of Ottawa, grandson Ryan Scott Terry, 2 great-grandsons, Rhys Richard and Declan Aaron Terry.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Aaron Michael Terry and a sister Mary Kathern Armstrong.
Joe attended Ottawa High School and retired from Lockwood Glass in Peoria. He served in the National Guard and was a founding member of the Shoreline Boat Club, N.R.A. and an avid aviation fan. He also enjoyed making boats, music, woodworking and making jewelry.
