Sarah G. Jensen

Sarah G. Jensen, 83 of Streator passed away Saturday evening (May28th) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

A visitation will be held Thursday from 10 – 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12noon at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will follow services.

Sarah was born on August 23, 1932 in Baring, MO to Bert and Genevieve (Wilson) Ferrell.  She married Dean Jensen on December 27, 1957, who preceded her in death on December 28, 2011.

Surviving are children, Terri (Ed) Isabel of Streator, Kimberly (Rickie) West of Taylors, SC, John (Susan) Jensen of SC, Joy Jensen of Streator, James (Dianne) Jensen of LaSalle and step-son, Daniel Jensen of California, 36 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 due in September and 2 great-great-grandchildren due in the fall.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 step-children, Melody and Leiane Jensen and Paula (John) Wolfe, sister, Phyllis Woodward, a brother Don Richard Ferrell, and one great-granddaughter.

Sarah attended school in Baring, MO and while she was in high school she played on the girls basketball team and played Softball for Owens Illinois Glass Softball Team.  She retired from Owens Illinois Glass in 1988.  Sarah enjoyed going to garage sales, spending time with her kids and grandkids.
