Passed away Wednesday (Aug. 26) at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator
A Visitation will be Saturday (Aug.29) from 9-11 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home
Services will be Saturday (Aug. 29) at 11AM at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Ognoskie officiating.
Burial will be in Cornell Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Streator VFW post #1492 and the Streator American Legion post #217.
Pallbearers will be Eric Jensen, Randy St. John, Kyle, Cory, Troy, and Ryan Hart. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Jensen.
Born July 14, 1930 in Blackstone, IL to William Roy and Elsie Leota (Gillman) St. John.
He married Darlene Alberts on November 30 1955. She passed away Nov. 24, 1980.
Surviving is daughter, Darla St. John Wooldridge, Dwight, step-son, Richard (Linda) Kolesar, Marseilles, brother, Dannie St. John, Blackstone, sister, Elsie Lou (Jim) Jensen, Elkhorn, WI., 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Wooldridge, Dwight, and Erik Wooldridge, Seneca, and 2 step-grandchildren, Janet (Brian) Rodgers, NC., and Jeff (JoAnne) Kolesar, Aurora, IL.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Gladys St. John.
Attended Cornell Grade School and graduated from Cornell High School.
He was a member of the Cornell Methodist Church.
He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Streator VFW Post # 1492 and The Streator American Legion post #217.
He farmed in the Manville area and retired from Owens Illinois Glass, Streator.
