Sharon L. Simons, 63 of Streator passed away Thursday morning (July 26th) at St. Mary's Hospital.
A visitation will be held Monday from 3 - 6PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 6PM at the funeral home with cremation rites following services.
Sharon was born on March 20, 1949 in Streator to George and Betty (Cave) Handzo. She married Curtis Simons on July 16, 1976. He survives.
Also surviving are children Todd (Pam) Coates of Jacksonville, FL, Toby (Amy) Coates of Pontiac, Stacy (Matt) Anderson of Champaign, Scott Simons of Crestwood, Linda (Tim) Fitzsimmons of Pontiac, Gary Simons of Streator, Nancy (Dave) Wilkey of Odell and Cheryl (Steve) LeGrand of Woodridge, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, mother Betty (Elliott) Peterson of Peru and sister Georgene Kirschbaum of Peru.
Sharon is preceded in death by her father.
She retired from Hilton Reservation Center in Streator and was a member of the Central Church of Christ. She was a graduate of St. Stephen's Grade School, Woodland High School and Mid-State Business College in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
