Suzanne "Sue" Younker

Suzanne “Sue” Younker, 68 of Streator passed away Wednesday (August 21, 2019) at the home of her daughter in Normal.

Visitation will be held Monday from 11 – 1 PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren Nick Haslett, Robert Keist and Brittany Downs.  Active will be Cody Dunning, Paul Hjerpe, Frayne Garcia, Jenny Fribbs, Mike Carbone and Ben Turner.

Sue was born on November 18, 1950 in Streator to John and Mildred (Tapley) Hjerpe.  She married Dominic “Nick” Younker on August 12, 1968.  He preceded her in death on July 17, 2009.

Surviving is daughter Angela Keist of Normal, 3 grandchildren, Cody (Maddie) Dunning, Nicholas Haslett and Robert Keist, 2 great-grandchildren Lilly Gardner and Maliyah Dunning, sister Rose Garcia of Streator, brothers Phillip “Bruce” (Donna) Hjerpe of Minnesota and Paul (Kelly) Hjerpe of Canyon, TX and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Younker, brothers Jack, Charles, Gerald, Richard and Ed Hjerpe and a sister Mary Sena.

Sue attended St. Mary’s Grade School and was formerly employed at Owens Illinois Glass and retired from Oak State in Wenona.  She enjoyed playing bingo, cleaning, spending time with her family and sitting outdoors.

Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
