Thomas Wm. Overocker, 71 of Streator passed Sunday morning (Dec. 16th) at his home.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 - 5PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 5PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Friday at 11AM.
Tom was born on January 24, 1941 in Streator to Herbert and Sabina (Hall) Overocker. He married Barb Jerde on June 27, 1987 she survives.
Also surviving are children Lee Ann (Dave) Essman, of Streator, Laura Hert, of Kangley and Joseph (Mary Ann) Hert of Ottawa, 4 grandchildren, Bryan and Hannah Essman, Zachary Hert and Dawn Hefler, whom they called him "Tot", brothers Cliff (Kim) Overocker of Streator, Richard (Kay) Overocker of Ransom, sisters Prisilla Amell and Sandra "Muffy" Overocker both of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Arthur, Arnold and Dave, sisters Judy Madara, Beverly Willis and Lois in infancy.
Tom attended Sherman Grade School and Streator High School, he served in the US Marines and retired from Joe Hatzer and Sons Construction and he enjoyed bowling and fishing and was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
