Thomas E. Redfern 79 of Streator passed away Sunday morning (July 12th) at his home.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 9 â 11 AM at the St. Paulâs Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 11AM at the church. Burial will be in the Long Point Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Kevin and Klint Appel, nephews, Gene Barton, Dennis, Tim and Doug Fechter. Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Tom was born on July 7, 1936 in Streator to William and Lina (Smith) Redfern. He married Norma Fechter on April 27, 1957. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Gayle (Kevin) Appel of Oswego and Vicky (Jeff) Hoffner of Streator, grandchildren, Jamie (Chris) Copp, Kevin (Jodi) Appel II, Klint Appel, Hiliary and Brooklyn Hoffner, 4 great-grandchldren, Brynn, Brody, Lia and Ava, twin brother, John (Joyce) Redfern of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Loren and Robert, sisters, Dorothy Barton, Rita Peters and Betty Nolan.
Tom attended Cornell Grade School and High School. He retired from Vactor Mfg and was an auto mechanic for many years. Tom was a member of the St. Paulâs Lutheran Church, and the Menâs Lutheran Club and the Streator Eagles. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting.
