Tyler James Derossett

March 6, 1989 — July 24, 2019

Tyler J. Derossett, 30 of Streator passed away Wednesday (July 24, 2019) in Streator.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-7PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home with full military honors conducted by members of the Streator American Legion and VFW at 4 PM.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday at 6:30PM at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony ‘TJ” Leslie and Stephen “SteveO” Bennett.

Tyler was born on March 6, 1989 in Streator to Larry and Tina (Burns) Derossett  Jr.

Surviving is his son, Jhase Aaron Derossett of Streator, mother  Tina Derossett of Streator, father Larry Derossett, Jr.,  of Brentwood, TN, brother Jaxon (Hallei) Derossett of Brentwood, TN, maternal grandmother Kathy Stephens of Streator, maternal grandfather Rodney Burns, Sr. of Poplar Bluff, MO., paternal step grandfather Frank Taylor of Manville, nephew Bentley Derossett of Streator, uncles Rodney, Todd and Kevin Burns, Kevin (Jamie) Derossett ,Stanley (Ali)  Taylor and Rick Derossett, aunt, Melanie Derossett,  former wife Lani (Pellino) Derossett of Streator,  significant other April Kelly of Streator,  several cousins, great aunts, and uncles and too many military brothers to mention but all very loved. 

He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Larry Derossett Sr. and paternal grandmother, Mary Ellen Taylor.

Tyler attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School in 2007. 

He served in the U.S. Army and toured in Iraq and Afghanistan and was discharged in 2013. 

He liked spending time outdoors fishing and camping, playing D&D and hanging out with Khaos Ordinance.

22 Veterans commit suicide every day.  Today it felt like 23.
