William B. Adamchak

October 27, 1939 — August 5, 2019

William B. Adamchak, 79 of Streator passed away Monday morning (August 5, 2019) at his home in Streator.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  A celebration of life will be held on Thursday from 11AM-1PM at the Knights of Columbus in Streator.

The Winterrowd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bill was born on October 27, 1939 in Streator to John “Yank”and Molly (Minick) Adamchak. 

He married Sandy Melvin on January 18, 1975.  She survives.

Also surviving are children, Dawn Adamchak of Myrtle Beach, SC., Willy Adamchak of Warren, ME, Kelly (Joe) McCarroll of Nashville, TN, Donald (Kathy) Melvin of Streator, Doug (Sandy) Melvin of Streator and Chris Flowers of Streator, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother, Tom (June) Adamchak of Streator, sisters, Mary “Mitz” (Richard) Holloway of Streator, Nancy Aragon of Ransom and Delores Tuck of Streator and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed, Bud, Danny and Andrew and sister, Vera Zulz.

Bill attended Streator Grade Schools and Streator High School.   He served in the U.S. Navy.

He retired from the City of Streator Public Works Department and was a member of Central Church of Christ.  Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting. 

Memorials may be made to any Veterans Organization.
