William F. Gebhardt, 90 of S. Ottawa passed away (May 25th) at Pleasant View Luther Home , Ottawa.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 - 8PM at the Grand Ridge Funeral Home and Saturday from 9 - 11AM at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ottawa. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at the Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Phillip and Andrew Lia, Richard Dunshee and Tom Mierzejewski, nephew Greg Gebhardt and cousin Pete Sutton.
Bill was born August 20, 1920 in rural Ottawa to William C. and Wreatha (Ball) Gebhardt.
He married Jean Kavinsky on February 14, 1944. She passed away May 10, 2001.
Surviving are daughters, Delores (Wayne) Gunderson of Leland, IL and Phyllis Lia of Montgomery, IL, 4 grandchildren, Teri (Richard)Dunshee, Emily (Tom) Mierzejewski, Phillip (Annie) Lia, Andrew Lia, 4 great-grandchildren, Jacqueline and Spencer Dunshee, Victoria Lia and Anna Mierzejewski, brother, Roger Gebhardt of Ottawa, sisters, Wreatha Mary (Bob) Studzinski of LaSalle and Rose Ann Gebhardt of Peru.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Fred, grandson Robert Aschinger, and a brother Howard.
He retired from farming in the rural Ottawa area. He was a Life member of the Streator Elks Lodge 591 and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Ottawa. He attended the Covel Creek Grade School.
